Congratulations on owning a home by Charter! We hope your move went smoothly and wish you many years of happiness in your new home.
Now you are settled in, please take the time to read the following information about living in a home by Charter. If you have any questions, please do get in touch.
Charter is Magna Housing Group's development company. Also in the group are Magna Housing Association and Magna West Somerset Housing Association. See about us for more information.
As you will have been told before buying your home, now that you own the share you have purchased (eg 40% or 50%) the remaining share is owned by one of Magna's housing associations. You are responsible for paying your rent on the remaining share to them.
Magna Housing Association looks after homes in Dorset, most of Devon and some of Somerset. Magna West Somerset takes care of homes in West Somerset. You should have been told which housing association owns the remaining share in your home when purchasing.
Our purpose is to help people meet their housing and related needs and aspirations. We aim to provide our customers with a quality service and regularly review our service standards to reflect this.
In owning a share in your home, we have made a commitment to you. Please see your copy of the 'leaseholder handbook' for further details about what we can and can't do for you or visit the relevant housing assocations' website using the link on the right of this page.
Just as we have committed to you in owning a share of your home, you have certain responsibilities to us in owning the other share. This includes things like paying your rent on time. Again, you'll find up-to-date details of these in your leaseholder handbook or on our websites.
